The HVR International Group is a world leader in the manufacture of linear ceramic carbon high voltage resistors, wire wound power resistors, nonlinear silicon carbide and zinc oxide varistors and silicon-metal resistors.
We were the first company in the world to produce high volage ceramic carbon resistors, and these have been produced at our head office site in Jarrow, Tyne & Wear, UK since 1963 and our resistors are used in electrical transmission system worldwide.
We have two UK based manufacturing sites, HVR International Ltd, in Jarrow, Tyne & Wear, and HVR Pentagon Ltd, in Birmingham. In additon we have a manufactuing facility in Germany, HVR GmbH, and a maunfacturing distribution office the US, HVR Advanced Power Components.
Our wide range of resistor products are used in a variety of applications including electrical transmission, pulse power, AC/DC drives, traction, dynamic braking and wind turbines.
In addition, we have an expert group of agents who bring our high-voltage resistor solutions closer to customers around the world.

HVR International Limited, the group head office based in Jarrow, Tyne & Wear, UK, is the core of the HVR Group and specialises in the design and manufacture of Linear Ceramic Carbon High-Voltage Resistors. In addition, we manufacture HV Compact Resistors, SR Surge Resistors, Rod & Tube Resistors, Resistor Assemblies and High Voltage Earthing Sticks.

HVR Pentagon Ltd, based in Birmingham, UK is a key part of the HVR Group and specialises in the design and manufacture of high-performance Wire- and Tape-Wound Resistors, Dynamic Braking Resistors, Resistor Enclosures, Anti-Condensation Heaters and Thermostats and Hygrostats.

HVR International GmbH, located in Röthenbach, Germany, specialises in the design and manufacture of non-linear Silicon Carbide and Zinc Oxide Varistors and High Power Silico Tubes, for high-voltage and industrial applications.
